India Against Corruption

Its all over TV, newspapers, blogs, tweets and status updates!!People gathering in large numbers to join in the protest, some fasting, some tweeting, some lauding the efforts of Anna hazare and the rest. All this signals something- that winds of change are blowing over  our beloved country India.
Forgive me because I'm not so politically inclined and can't write well about politics. But whatever I am writing here is just my very own opinion (however badly worded!!).
An event that should have taken place long ago started on April 5 .But better late than never!!It is being termed as India's second war of Independence.People came out on the streets expressing their solidarity with the activists who started the protest. The government tried to put them down offering some small incentives but they were hell bent on having what they wanted! Now is something we all can really look forward to..A corruption free India!

According to me, optimism is the right emotion to have!It did shake people out from their complacent shells making them realize that just accepting the present situation and going with flow will not get them anywhere! There was unity- people from all walks of life joined it.It was largely peaceful and it achieved its goal- of getting the approval for forming a committee consisting of citizens too  for drafting the Lokpal bill.

The real struggle however begins now says our beloved Anna Hazare. How true!!There is no denying the fact that the government will put in as many hurdles as it can it its path till it becomes a law and jails our corrupt politicians! However, our clever politicians will see to it that there are loopholes in the system to ensure their safe escape. So does that mean nothing much can be really done??Will all our struggle and work go down the drain? Will it truly eradicate corruption? These questions linger on and as time comes,we will probably get our answers.

But right now,we have a strong reason to celebrate! There are going to be numerous able heads who can cleverly chalk out the bill so that no one escapes. Its implementation also will be carried out with great supervision.Surely this alone will not work.Till we pledge to stop bribing through our way and stick to ideals thinking of the correct path rather than the easier one, corruption is not going to stop.Might be Utopian to put into practice but if each of do our bit I don't see what can really stop us from being a corrupt nation.

Whatever it may be but our politicians have gotten a strong message that people are the ultimate leaders in a democracy!Jai Ho!!
