The Great Indian Mindset

"Oh My God!Look at that guy,He's throwing garbage right onto the pavement.Senseless!!"

"How can he blow his nose so loudly in public??"

"No civic sense!No manners.These Indians..."

Hold on!These are not from foreigners who visit once in a blue moon thanks to us but from our own countrymen,Indians. Not that We're wrong because that's what is happening anyway.

Anger flows freely in the Indian blood [ good it did otherwise we would never be independent] which if channelled properly can be directed at the required places. It is very true that whatever is happening in our country is not all hunky-dory.We are frustrated, feeling betrayed & totally helpless. We are screaming at the top of our voices to be heard, to open the eyes of the authority. We are slanging & complaining.Voila! you are introduced tot he "Great Indian Mindset"!
I'm trying not to be sarcastic about my own people as that would seem unfair. But I hope most of you will agree that we are adept at pointing fingers, blaming others & ranting about everything under the sun. Alright..I'm not going to scold ourselves. After all we have a right to be angry.Complaining will make us restless & take us nowhere but I'm not hinting that we should stop it totally.Instead we must try & find some solutions.

Its not that easy ( many people would find it easier to do IIT-JEE maths than to find a solution to a simple problem). It is very pleasing to know that a few people are working towards it but as we can see it plainly, it's not enough!

That is where the youth of the country jump in.We are an angry lot.we write blogs, vent it out & remain quiet like a dormant volcano. Why shouldn't we give it a try??

C'mon everyone!I want us all to give some thought & put up your proposed solution to any problem concerning India (however silly you think it might be). I'm sure we'll be surprised by how many bright minds we have!

This reminds me of a song which we sung when back at school-

"Honge kaamiyaab,Hum honge kaamiyaab
Hum honge kaamiyaab ek din,
Oh ho man mein hai vishwas, poora hai vishwas,
Hum honge kaamiyaab ek din."

  1. Lol..really good post :) And also you've written it such that it is politically correct ;)
You are right. Ppl like us, we just crib about probs rather than trying to solve them. (Similar to JEE :P)
Stating problems is easy, while answering them is the hard part...i agree..totally!

I think i oughtta start blogging about solutions now rather than problems, which will be more pleasing for everyone to see and read. :)
    Thanks again. ;)

  2. I believe the root cause of many probs in India...is the horrible administration(not only the govt) we have..be it bbmp, bwssb, the KEA,The state govt,The central govt... and so on..!! So tht means...our youth(which u call as our saviour) should take part in politics...If this is the way ahead...there r 2 major hurdles...!!
1.Today's youth(includin me n u) r not interested in joining politics for obvious reasons!!
2.There's no platform wher a youth can take charge of things so tht he can change the system!

Rahul Gandhi the so called future pm is in his late thirtys!! Is tht what u call "YOUTH"???

Agar aise hi chalte...hum ne politics join kiya..toh wahaan pe sadenge bas..aur kuch nahin ho sakhtha!! :(

  5. Thnx everyone!
@ Harish...taking part in politics is one thing but yes your hurdle 1 is a huge one
but there is something that we can do..file some PILs.It might or might not help but if a large number of people file them, something could happen.

We could create some youth forums(there are plenty actually) & try "right to information".

We obviously can't change laws but we can clang loudly for them to change.I think we as public are not putting enough pressure on the govt.Plus taking part in elections is one.

So those are some already existent solution I could offer right now.You guys can do better!

Lets not think about hurdles on our way but try to dig out some alternative paths..:)

  6. therez no such alternative path!!
there s one path n tht is get rid off the hurdles!
PILs would work if ppl like us run the govt!!....n against whom will u file???there are so many...
By getting rid of them i mean...
First we need to stop bribing them in any way....
When he asks for it...take a video....air it....create awareness and banners....!!
when we get enuf people...we create a party....!!n then rest will fall in place

    thts the plan...
for this u need fearless committed people...
n we engineers aren't going to do this!!

we need to change!! then we can hope to change the country!!
